Art exhibition 'Wisdom of Confucius' held in Lithuania

A delegation from Shandong of China held an art exhibition 'Wisdom of Confucius' here on Monday.
"Confucius is a sage from China. His thoughts and wisdom have extended to the current age," Lithuania's vice minister of culture Romas Jarockis said during the exhibition.
According to Jarockis, this exhibition can well introduce civilization and culture of China.
"Confucius is also influential in terms of education, even in Europe," he added.
According to Xia Geng, vice governor of Shandong province and head of the delegation, Lithuania's culture was introduced in several events held previously in Shandong. As exchange, Shandong' s delegation came to Lithuania with the most magnificent civilization of China.
"Hope that people from our two countries will know each other better based on cultural exchanges," Xia said during the art exhibition.
He also expressed wishes that cultural exchanges would boost cooperation on economy and other sectors between China and Lithuania.
The exhibition introduces the life and wisdom of Confucius with texts and pictures. It also brings performance of calligraphy, tea art, stone rubbing, and guqin, a Chinese instrument which has a history of about 3,000 years.
