CAPE TOWN - A car smashed into a shop in Cape Town on Sunday, killing six people, South African police said.
Five occupants in the car were killed, police spokesman Werner Vermaak said. "Another man was found with fatal injuries outside the vehicle. It is understood that the man was a security guard at the shop at the time and was killed by the vehicle when it crashed into the shop."
The accident took place in the Plumstead district early Sunday morning, Vermaak said.
The cause of the accident was not yet known and would be investigated by the local authorities, Vermaak said.
