About 200 works by traditional Chinese painter Guo Ruyu were displayed at Sichuan Provincial Museum from Nov 19 to Nov 23.

Most were recent flower and bird paintings, and many were inscribed with Guo's calligraphically portrayed poems. Some works by the 70-year-old Sichuan native included sceneries of foreign countries and modern women. The former Chengdu Silk Embroidery Factory painter has often exhibited overseas since 1975.

The show was sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture, the Sichuan Artists Association and the Sichuan Academy of Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting.
