A 71-year-old woman in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, finally passed her driving license tests after two years of continuous effort, Chengdu Commercial Daily reported on Thursday.
Zhong Liqun has wanted to drive a car for more than 50 years since she read a car magazine published by the Former Soviet Union, but at that time it was only a dream. In 2012, after Zhong retired, she read in a local newspaper that people younger than 70 could attain a driving license after passing the relevant tests so she went to a driving school. Because of her age, Zhong encountered a number of difficulties in learning to drive and failed the tests several times. She finally achieved her goal and got her driving license on June 18.
Zhong said she plans to buy a secondhand car with which to enjoy driving.
