A crocodile was brought in by a Shanghai driver Wednesday after he picked up the carnivore and lost his nerve to keep it, local news portal eastday.com reported.
The driver discovered the unconscious crocodile with its jaws held by a rubber band on Tuesday night at the entrance of a highway on the outer-ring road of Shanghai. He took the crocodile home and tied it up.
The next morning, he discovered the crocodile regained consciousness and broke free, and he brought the reptile to the police.
The crocodile, weighing 25 kilograms and with a body length of 1.63 meters, was identified as a Siamese crocodile and was sent to the city's zoo.
