Road traffic in the capital is expected to worsen next month, transportation authorities said.
With many schools restarting, September has particular days that commentators believe will see heavy congestion on the capital's roads, according to the Beijing Commission of Transport on Monday.
Four of these days, Sept 17, 18, 22 and 29 are predicted to see traffic gridlock.
September hosts the Mid-Autumn Festival and preparations for National Day in October.
Beijing transport authorities have planned for heavy traffic by streamlining bus routes, adding subway trains and establishing a communication platform for taxi services.
