Premier Li Keqiang on Sunday called for more support for farmers and post-quake reconstruction during his visit to a rural credit cooperative in Minxian county, Northwest China's Gansu province.
"We rely on farmers for a living," he told staff members at the rural credit cooperative. Rural credit cooperatives are local institutions that usually provide small loans to farmers, individual business owners and small local companies.
"You grow from farmers and they are your clients and food providers. Only if they live well, can you grow strong. You should serve, support and provide profits for them," Li said.
He also called for more support for the post-quake reconstruction in the province.
