An arrest warrant has been approved for the vice-president of a primary school accused of killing a 6-year-old girl, the procuratorate of Baoding said on Friday.
Yang Haijun, who was the vice-president of Wang'an Town Central Primary School in of Laiyuan county, Hebei province, since 2006, allegedly found the victim, identified only by her surname Chen, walking alone near his home at noon on July 27.
When told the girl was looking for her mother, he pretended to help her but took her his home.
The girl cried to leave his home, which irritated the suspect, who used tape to tie her hands and cover her nose and mouth, leading her to suffocate. Yang then dumped her body in a pit, Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.
Yang was taken into custody and removed from his position on Aug 2. The procuratorate of Baoding city ratified the arrest warrant on Friday, but when Yang will stand trial has not been released.
The victim's parents accused Yang of raping their daughter, but the police did not release an autopsy report nor did the local county government respond to the charge.
