China's largest NGO on poverty alleviation helped 1.87 million people last year, according to a yearly report released on Thursday.
China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, founded in 1989, raised 273 million yuan ($43.8 million) from 152,700 individual donors and 7,027 companies.
The projects the foundation conducted included building new dormitories for students in poverty-stricken areas, providing medical care for pregnant women, disaster relief and giving micro-finance to farmers.
The foundation also gave 2.44 million yuan in aid to poor people in Sudan and Cambodia.
Liu Wenkui, secretary-general of the foundation, said the NGO has also been working to promote transparency and made donation information accessible to the public.
