Truck carrying liquid benzene overturns in Shanxi

A truck carrying crude liquid benzene overturned in North China’s Shanxi province on Thursday morning, causing a small leakage, according to the Beijing Evening News.
The truck, which was carrying 29.36 tons of crude benzene, fell into a ditch along the road in Lingchuan county at about 4 am. The vehicle was damaged when it overturned.
Crude liquid benzene is a chemical that can harm the human brain, skin, lungs and nervous system.
Rescuers headed quickly to the site to deal with the leakage, and traffic on the road was suspended temporarily, according to the report.
