Egypt to finish constitution amendments in 10 days

CAIRO - The Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces on Tuesday set a period of 10 days for the constitutional amendment committee to finish its task, a member of the committee told Xinhua.

The military council formed the committee on Tuesday in the presence of Minister of Defense and Head of Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Hussein Tantawi and Sami Anan, the chief-of-staff of the armed forces.

The committee members include three constitutional law experts, three counselors and a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood, the country's prominent opposition group.
