The Canadian National Arts Center Orchestra's debut tour of China this month has been labeled a resounding success by organizers. Peter Herrndorf, the chief executive officer of Canada's National Arts Center, said the orchestra's efforts had helped strengthen ties between the two nations through the international language of music.
"The musical communication, the non-verbal communication was instant, and it's really revealing," he said during an exclusive interview with China Daily on Oct 17.
The 18-day tour, which saw the 70-strong group of Canadian virtuosos visit seven cities, perform eight concerts, and run some 80 educational events all across the country, has also received praise from China's National Central for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
