Guillermo Munro, who signs his art with the name Memuco, is a Mexican-American painter currently living in Beijing. In 2003, Memuco decided to use his art to help protect the environment. As a painter, Memuco started to paint on cardboard and other used materials to avoid wasting paper.

Much of Memuco's art is about the environment and endangered species. He wants people to know that the world is facing mass extinction of many different animals.

Memuco has been passionate about drawing since he was born, despite the fact that every one in his life told him it would be tough to make a living as a painter. But Memuco began to attend art and architecture classes that despite taking few notes would put him on the path to success.

Memuco believes that China has given him inspiration in terms of creation.
His website reads: "I believe in passion. I believe in change. I believe in influence. I believe in hard work. I believe in having fun while doing it."

This is his story.
