2,503 push-ups: Pakistani breaks world record

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani wrestler registered his name amongst world record holders with his Herculean continuous 2,503 push-ups, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to Pakistani newspaper Daily Times, wrestler Munir Ahmed on Monday showed his phenomenal struggle for one hour and 25 minutes. Ahmad with this performance surpassed an Indian national's record of having maximum continuous push-ups.

The world-record-setting demonstration was witnessed by thousands of spectators in Sheikhupura near Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore.

Ahmed said he was ecstatic at this feat for his country. He also announced that all the proceeds and prizes from the event will be donated to flood victims.
