Enforce the law to fight corruption

If the law enforcement authority does not enforce the law, then the law dies, said an article in the Southern Metropolis Daily (excerpts below).
The scandal of corruption hit Huating county, Gansu province recently.
Civil servants were accused of offering bribes to a senior official. Four were convicted but many others walked free despite continued suspicion and allegations.
Time and again we see cases involving corruption not fully followed through or with major questions remaining to be answered.
If unchecked, corruption will prevail in each corner of government and society.
Law enforcement agencies have become a weak link in building a country ruled by law.
Corruption is a single word but it covers events that may or may not occur in many, many aspects of everyday life.
