China: grandparents taking care of children is a tradition
It isn't considered unusual for grandparents in China to look after the houses of their children and even help raise their grandchildren, Younger couples often claim to shy away from hiring nannies due to the expensive costs. Plus many parents find the idea of grandparents taking on the role of caregivers a very comforting idea.
