Japan: full-time mother is common
Japan is one of the countries with the highest rate of full-time housewives. Even women with a higher education prefer to stay at home. The belief that men earn money and women stay at home is deep-rooted. Of course, taking care of the children is just part of the "housework". But nowadays more women want to shed of this belief and to become independent. They put their children into nurseries.
