Jay Chou has a new album to plug, so he's been in the news lately for all the right reasons.
Wow, his 11th album, released on Nov 11, marked his 11 years in show business. Obviously, the man has got timing, and this includes his favored method of avoiding paparazzi, which he revealed earlier this week.
Speaking in his hometown of Taipei, he said that he often gets a friend to drive his car when the media is waiting for him outside a building. They follow the car, he explained, and then he slips away unnoticed.
He added that the secret of this oft-repeated method is for the friend to drive the car as if he is making a fast getaway.
"It fools them every time," he said of the media, which surely must be wise to his game by now.
In related news, Lady Gaga is said to be a big fan of the 32-year-old Chou - of his music, that is.
Hong Kong media has reported that Chou's songs, which combine Chinese elements, R 'n' B and hip-hop, have attracted the US pop singer's attention.
The two secretly met in July, after Gaga wrapped up her performance in Taiwan. It's rumored Gaga also wants Chou's dancers.
That's the good news. Here's the gossip.
Hong Kong actor Joe Ma has been having a torrid time of it after being roundly criticized - along with Benny Chan - for taking advantage of fellow thesp Rose Chan while the trio was filming in China.
His woes got worse when photos of him in bed with an ex were posted online earlier this week, in the (fulfilled) hope of further embarrassing him.
Ma said the photos are from six years ago and are "old news", while his wife stuck by her man by saying he knows how to "restrain himself".
Edison Chen is feeling sorry for himself, again, and asking for forgiveness. He does this every two years or so, following another photo scandal.
This time, he was appearing at the BTV-MTV awards ceremony in Beijing, on Wednesday, when he got up to make his mea culpa.
"I broke up with my girlfriend several months ago, and I was so unhappy that I felt lost. So, I cheered myself up in the wrong way," he says of his brief affair with the 16-year-old model Cammi Tse.
"I was wrong! I was stupid and believe in people too easily."
That's funny when you think about it. A 31-year-old guy claiming that he's the one who's naive when it comes to romantic trysts with teen girls.
"I let my friends down. I'm sorry. I hope the public will forgive me," Chen banged on.
"Young people should learn from me - not to give up."
We at Celebrity Sauce are sure Tse is taking notes.
