LOS ANGELES – Yes she is. Melissa Etheridge is coming to Broadway next month to star in "American Idiot," the musical based on a Green Day concept album.
The rocker will take over the role of St. Jimmy from Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong from February 1-6.
Armstrong returns February 10 and will complete his 50-performance engagement February 27.
Elsewhere on the Great White Way, newsman Anderson Cooper is lending his voice to Daniel Radcliffe's new musical comedy "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
Cooper will narrate the production, which also stars John Larroquette. Walter Cronkite was the narrator in the 1995 revival, which starred Broadway veteran Matthew Broderick. "How to Succeed" begins previews Saturday.
