David Beckham cried when his wife Victoria told him she was pregnant again.
The soccer star was reportedly stunned when the fashion designer - who learned she was expecting their fourth child during a trip to England in November - planned a romantic meal at home to break the news they would be having a sibling for Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and five-year-old Cruz.
A source said: "She started a conversation about their future as a family and whether it should be in the UK or US.
"But when he said they have three children to think about, she smiled and said 'four'. David just beamed at her and welled up. He's an emotional guy and it was very overwhelming for him.
"He told her he couldn't have wished for better news. He's so happy, he can't stop crying!"
Victoria, 36, reportedly told their children about her pregnancy on Christmas Day (25.12.10), prompting fresh tears from David.
The insider told heat magazine: "It was magical. Victoria told them mummy had an extra-special present but they would have to wait for it. Then she told them they could expect another brother or sister.
"David welled up again while the kids were screaming and running around. It was the best Christmas present they could have had as a family, and it was a very emotional day."
The couple have reportedly asked close friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay to be godparents to their forthcoming new arrival.
A source told Now magazine: "The Ramsays were delighted and honoured to be asked. For all his foibles, Gordon is a great dad and Victoria loves Tana like a sister."
Another source added: "Tana is older than Victoria so has given her lots of advice and has been constantly on the phone since Victoria told her the news at Christmas."
