LOS ANGELES – A judge has granted a request by the California Medical Board to suspend the license of Michael Jackson's personal physician to practice in the state. Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said Tuesday he was making the ruling in the case of Dr. Conrad Murray based on his earlier ruling that Murray must stand trial for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Jackson.
Pastor says he took the action involving the license in the interest of public safety.
Murray's lawyer Ed Chernoff asked the judge to stay his decision to allow an appeal but Pastor refused. He says Murray's lawyers must notify every district in which he practices of the decision within 24 hours.
Murray has clinics in Houston and Las Vegas.
