'Despicable Me' tops DVD sales chart

LOS ANGELES - "Despicable Me" easily topped the national home video sales charts during its first week in stores.
The animated hit bumped reigning champ "Inception" to No. 2 on both Nielsen VideoScan's sales chart and the tracking firm's dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart during the week ended December 19. "Despicable Me" generated 29% of its first-week unit sales from the Blu-ray Disc edition, a high percentage for a family title.
"The A-Team" debuted at No. 4 on the sales chart, right behind "Eclipse." "The Other Guys" came in at No. 5, and "The Town at No. 8. On the Blu-ray Disc chart, the rookies staked out the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 positions, respectively.
On Home Media Magazine's rental chart, "The Other Guys" debuted at No. 1.
