Grammy Award winning singer Mariah Carey is expecting twins, her husband Nick Cannon told a U.S. radio show on Thursday.
Cannon said on the 92.3 Now radio show that Carey first told President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama about the twins after a recent performance. Carey announced in October she was pregnant.
"She shared with the President and the First Lady that we are having twins," the 30-year-old rapper and TV host said, but he did not reveal the sex of each twin. "I haven't even told my wife I was doing this, so I am probably going to get yelled at for not getting permission."
The couple had delayed telling people about the pregnancy and expected twins due to a miscarriage Carey suffered two years ago, Cannon said.
A recent ultrasound revealed, "everything is A-OK, both babies are healthy, in tip-top shape. The doctors are extremely happy. We are extremely happy," Cannon said.
