State councilor hails work by SCO Secretary-General

State Councilor Yang Jiechi has met with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary-General Dmitry Fedorovich Mezentsev in Beijing on Tuesday and hailed the latter's work in China.
As Mezentsev's tenure in China is coming to an end, Yang has spoken highly of the achievements made by the secretary-general in boosting the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, implementing the important cooperative consensus reached by SCO member state leaders and deepening cooperation in various fields.
Yang said it is hoped that Mezentsev will continue to make contributions to promoting the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Mezentsev extended his appreciation for the assistance and help provided by the Chinese side during his tenure as SCO Secretary-General.
He said that in the context of the new situation, the organization will gain achievements even more through cooperation in various fields.
