Chinese leaders stress local chronicles compilation

BEIJING - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday stressed better compilation of local chronicles, expecting them to offer experience for governance.
Li made the remarks in a statement to a meeting on honoring excellent chronicles staff nationwide.
Li thanked them for their efforts and encouraged them to honestly record history to provide references for modern governance as well as future study.
Vice premier Liu Yandong attended the meeting and met with the representatives of staff working in the area.
Local chronicles carry the long history Chinese civilization and wisdom, and their role as education and political references has become more prominent, said Liu.
Liu asked the staff to record achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China properly and document the whole process of China's rejuvenation.
She also urged them to improve restoration of old chronicles and build more museums for the documents.
