BEIJING -- China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) has increased the compensation standard for citizens whose freedom have been infringed upon by the state on Wednesday .
The new standard for state compensation has been set at 219.72 yuan ($35.9) per day, up 19.03 yuan from the 2014 compensation standard, according to a statement published by the SPC.
The adjustment was based on the increase in the average salary of state employees in 2014, which stood at 57,346 yuan in 2014.
According to China's law on state compensation, the compensation for loss of freedom shall be calculated according to the average salary per day of the staff of the state in the preceding year.
