CONAKRY - China has donated 100 buses and 50 trucks to Guinea in a bid to help the West African country improve transportation and clean the capital city Conakry, according to the Chinese Embassy.
The vehicles arrived in Conakry on Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of President Alpha Conde's election.
In a message on the occasion, President Conde said the Guinean government will enter into a partnership with a foreign transport company for the management of the 100 buses.
The Guinean government plans to use the buses to reduce traffic jams and the trucks to collect garbage, an increasing menace to the environment and health of the residents in Conakry.
