Hangzhou's booming service outsourcing industry will provide about 30,000 jobs by 2015, Lin Ge, vice mayor of the city's municipal foreign trade and economic cooperation bureau, said at a press conference of the forth China International Outsourcing Business Development Summit on Oct 30.
By the end of last year, Hangzhou's service outsourcing industry had employed 120,000 college graduates and the government will continue its efforts on training and employment promotion this year, Lin said.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, implemented $1.91 billion in the offshore service outsourcing industry last year, surging 69 percent from 2009's $ 91.9 million, Lin added.
In addition, the State Council, or cabinet, recently issued a document exempting the sales tax of offshore service outsourcing exports, a change from previous policies. The move will boost the development of the industry, according to Lin.
Three hundred representatives from domestic overseas service outsourcing organizations, training institutions and pilot parks attended the Forth China International Outsourcing Business Development Summit, said Sun Shuxin, the director of the service trade office of Hangzhou Municipal Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau.
