China, US sign MOU to establish governors' forum

WASHINGTON - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi signed a memorandum of understanding with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday on establishing a China-US Governors' Forum between the two countries.

China and the United States support the establishment of such a forum, says the memorandum.

The forum will serve as an important communication platform between Chinese provincial and US state governors in a bid to promote practical cooperation at provincial level in areas such as trade, investment, energy, environment and culture.
