Gates, on China trip, to talk DPRK, Iran

WASHINGTON - US Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who will visit China starting Sunday, said on Thursday he hoped to use the trip to seek a deeper dialogue with Beijing on areas of mutual interest, including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Iran.

"I think expanding that dialogue is really important," said Gates, ahead of the January 9-12 visit.
