The Leiting 2000 multiple rocket launcher, Taiwan's indigenous weapons system, has been sent back to the island amid the increasingly close cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, China Times of Taiwan reported.

The Taiwan military has decided to retreat the weapons from Jinmen (Quemoy) Island, which is 18 nautical miles off Xiamen in the mainland's Fujian province and has been armed as important military base by Taiwan authorities.

The Leiting 2000 multiple rocket launcher, developed by Taiwan institutes, can launch 40 rockets at a time.
