Frozen weather paralyzes SW province

A man walks on ice-covered farmland in Kaiyang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, Jan 4, 2011. The province has been battling freezing weather since Dec 31, which is affecting more than 160 million residents and causing a direct economic loss of more than 70 million yuan ($10.62 million). Icy roads are causing traffic gridlocks. Provincial weather authorities have launched an emergency response plan for disaster relief work. [Photo/Xinhua]
