Dai Qingwen, from a wealthy family, said she plotted the thefts just for fun. The four thieves, who all had affairs with her, committed the crimes at her bidding since 2007.

In order to satisfy her curiosity, Dai’s current boyfriend, surnamed Xiao, even stole cars from parking lots with surveillance devices. Dai planned all the thefts. According to the report, they stole more than 40 cars, worth about 2 million yuan ($301,807).

Dai and the men have all been arrested.
