230,000 people face water shortage in E China

The dried up lakeshore is visible below the Poyanghu bridge in Hukou county, East China's Jiangxi province, Dec 10, 2010. A reduction in rainfall since late October lowered the water levels of rivers and dried up a handful of reservoirs, seriously affecting water supplies, leaving 230, 000 people facing a growing water shortage. The province has vowed to spare no effort in disaster relief work. [Photo/Xinhua]
