A fresh cold front has hit North China's Inner Mongolia, bringing high winds and heavy snow. The snowfall in Xilin Gol League has reached 35 centimeters and caused about 270 herdsmen to lose contact, but no deaths were reported so far.

Voluntary efforts to survive the winter have been made, such as reducing the number of livestock, giving surplus fodder to the needy and reserving materials for future production. Local government in Dong Ujimqin Banner has allocated 150 tons of food and 180 tons of fuel for the herds.
But early and frequent snows are already making this a tough winter for people and livestock.
The National Meteorology Center forecasts a cold front to hit North China over the next three days, bringing more high winds.
