Companies see profit surge in key sectors

Listed companies in sectors including public affairs, information services, machinery and equipment, saw the biggest growth in the first half of 2013, according to their mid-term reports, the Securities Daily reported on Monday.
A total of 270 listed companies in China had disclosed mid-term reports by Monday.
Of these, 131 companies saw net profits increase year-on-year and also sequentially.
Twenty-four companies from the information service sector reported revenue of 14.31 billion yuan ($2.33 billion), up 15.12 percent year-on-year. The total net profit attributed to parent companies of these 24 companies reached 1.86 billion yuan, an increase of 28.99 percent year-on-year.
Year-on-year net profit growth rates at Avcon Information Technology, a multi-media system provider, and Enlight Media, China's leading media and entertainment group, both passed 100 percent, reaching 133.49 percent and 112.19 percent, according to their mid-term reports.
