A report from the State Information Center said that the country will limit housing purchases in more cities, and more specific real estate control policies will be issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the China Securities Journal reported Tuesday.

According to the report, in order to implement the prudent monetary policy, the central bank is likely to continue raising the interest rates and the reserve requirement ratio this year, the newspaper said.

The new batch of cities that will implement "the restriction order" on property purchases includes medium-sized and third-tier cities that have relatively active property transactions, according to the report.

The new real estate control policy this year will also focus on establishing a long-term mechanism to form a comprehensive control model, the newspaper reported.
