Guangdong '10 foreign trade up 30%

South China's Guangdong province generated $784.66 billion in foreign trade in 2010, rising 28.4 percent year-on-year, the local customs house said on Jan 31.

The province's growth in foreign trade was less than the national average of 34.7 percent.

The province's trade accounted for 26.4 percent of the nation's total trade.

The trade included $453.2 billion of exports, up 26.3 percent year-on-year, and $331.5 billion of imports, up 31.5 percent.

Guangdong sold $175.35 billion worth of new- and high-tech products abroad last year, up 25.8 percent year-on-year.

Machinery and electronics made up 70 percent of the province's total exports.
