China's stocks close lower Wednesday

BEIJING - Chinese shares fell Wednesday after a three-day winning streak with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing down 0.54 percent, or 15.66 points, to end at 2,911.41 points.

Total turnover fell to 274.41 billion yuan ($41.22 billion), down from 284.51 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Losers outnumbered winners 566 to 321 in Shanghai and 794 to 395 in Shenzhen.
