During an interview with Russian media as he traveled to the opening ceremony of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Xi said he wondered where his personal time had gone since he assumed the top job in China.
Xi said that he devoted all his time to work, leaving little left for personal matters.
The infographic, which first appeared in qianlong.com, the official news website of Beijing municipal government, shows in some detail where the leader’s time has gone, listing major events and days used up.
Since it first appeared, it has been reposted on various web portals and mico blog sites.
Since being elected as general secretary of the Communist Party of China in November 2012, Xi has made 12 trips within China, covering over one-third of the provincial regions. The trips used up 39 days.
Since taking the helm as Chinese president in March 2013, Xi has also made five overseas trips, taking in 14 countries on five continents. The overseas trips used up an additional 39 days in total.
In 2013, Xi participated in 47 conferences. During one particularly busy month, he took part in six conferences, as the infographic shows.
Since being elected, he has presided over 12 collective learning events involving members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
He has also participated in countless other official activities, including meetings with foreign politicians and cultural events.
Work to one side, the diagram also shows how the president spends his rare moments of free time during public holidays. He likes reading books and is a fan of sports, with swimming, climbing, football, volleyball, tennis and kung fu among his favorites.
