Trends Media Group recently published the 2011 China Trends Index Report. According to the report, Beijing and Shanghai are the most fashionable cities in China. But Sichuan's provincial capital Chengdu, Liaoning province's Dalian and Shenyang, and Foshan in Guangdong province also rank at the top of the list.

Chengdu residents are willing to spend more money purchasing luxuries, while Dalian natives pay more attention to local designs. Shenyang's and Foshan's governments provide a more flexible business environment for the fashion industry.

Cooperating with local fashion designers, the China Fashion Association and 15 professionals in the industry, Trends Media Group has been doing the survey since 2006 and publishes a report annually. Residents of more than 20 top-and second-tier cities were surveyed.
