Starting from May 11th, Chinese young people will be able to visit the embassies of the European Union member states.

Following the success last year of the first "EU Open Days for Young People" during the EU-China Year of Youth, the Delegation of the European Union to China and the embassies of the EU Member States will hold the second annual "EU Open Days for Young People" again this year.

Young Chinese and Europeans will be invited to EU embassies for information sessions, lectures, discussions as well as fun and games over a two-month period from early May to end-June.

The Open Days will take place in the context of the EU-China Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

The Year will see a large number of events and projects hosted by EU member states and China, with the aim of strengthening intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding through cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.

The EU-China Year of Intercultural Dialogue also offers opportunities for Chinese and EU cultural institutions, organizations and other stakeholders to establish and develop structured and sustainable cooperation during 2012 and beyond.

The Open Days will be officially launched by the EU Delegation on Friday 11th May with a discussion of issues such as EU-China relations, trade, education and career development followed by a barbecue in the grounds of the Delegation.

This will be followed on Sunday May 13 by the biggest Open Day this year which will take place at the Embassy of Denmark, current holders of the rotating EU Presidency.
