Veteran rocker Jon Bon Jovi delivered his version of The Moon Represents My Heart, a classic song on romance originally performed by Theresa Teng, for his Chinese fans in celebration of Qixi, or Chinese Valentine's Day, on Thursday.

In a YouTube video uploaded on Aug 19, which was then reposted on Chinese video streaming site Youku, the lead singer of rock band Bon Jovi performed the song, entirely in Mandarin.

With somewhat rusty pronunciation of Mandarin and his signature husky and rugged voice, Bon Jovi's version of the love song sits on opposite pole from Teng's silky and dream-like vocals. Nevertheless, his emotions steeped through, and his fans' hearts absorbed them in.

User #PleasecallmeKeruru praised his pronunciation and said: "His Mandarin is better than mine." User #PilululovesLuxixi was surprised, and said "I thought it was going to be a screaming version. Who would've know it would be so good!"

Others were more witty with their comments. User #Zhongkouweigongzhi playfully summarized the performance of the love song as "This ain't a song for the broken hearted."

Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform at Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena on Sept 14. Tickets can be purchased through ticketing hotline 400-610-3721, and online via Damai.cn as well as SmartShanghai.com.

In addition to the show in Shanghai, Bon Jovi will also have two back-to-back performances in Macao on September 25 & 26 at Cotai Arena, The Venetian Macao. The tour is presented by AEG live.

Fans will be treated to an unforgettable night of Bon Jovi's huge arsenal of worldwide hits, including Livin' On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, Who Says You Can't Go Home, It's My Life and many more.
