E China museum features Forbidden City palaces
A new museum in Huaxi village, East China's Jiangsu province, opened its doors to visitors on Nov 28, 2012. The 10,000-square-meter museum consists of replicas of palaces from Forbidden City and houses tens of thousands of paintings, carvings, jade items, china and embroidery created by famous artists. Covering a radius of 4 km and with a population of 36,000, the village is hailed as one of China's greatest success stories with all residents living in plush villas with two cars, at least $250,000 in the bank and free healthcare and education.[Photo/Xinhua]
