NANJING - Police in east Jiangsu province are searching for a suspect they say shot and killed a man during a robbery Friday, according to a police officer with the Public Security Bureau of Nanjing, the provincial capital.

After making a cash withdrawal inside a bank, the victim was robbed at gunpoint and then shot at 9:50 am on Heyan road, police said; the suspect then fled, jumping into a vehicle.

Possession of firearms is illegal in China.
