HONG KONG -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted 219km NW of Auckland Island, New Zealand at 19:28:04 GMT on Monday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 49.0667 degrees south latitude and 164.456 degrees east longitude.
