The Prime Minister of Georgia is the latest dignitary to receive an honorary professorship at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
Irakli Gharibashvili talked to the university's teachers and students about the need to develop and strengthen cooperation between China and Georgia under the Belt and Road Initiative.
After hearing there's only one Georgian student studying at the university now, Gharibashvili said the number should be increased in the future as it's essential to have more Georgian students who can speak Chinese.
Before Friday's event, Gharibashvili met Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the Dalian State Guesthouse on Thursday. They share ideas on how to strengthen bilateral ties.
