YAOUNDE - Around 100 people went missing in a boat capsizing accident in Central African Republic (CAR) Wednesday.
Police said on Thursday a passenger boat coming from Democratic Republic of Congo capsized in Prefecture Kouango, south of CAR, after its engine caught fire. Around 100 passengers on board jumped into the water, but there is no report of casualties.
A source in CAR's capital Bungui told Xinhua on phone the fire started from the goods on board, then spread to the engine. The boat was destroyed after the fire. Majority of the passengers are from CAR, the source added.
