Chinese Ambassador to EU Yang Yanyi has urged the younger generation in China and EU to scale up the efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership, saying the previous progress should not be "taken granted."
"While much has been accomplished (in building the partnership）, we must not take it for granted. Much more needs to be done to sustain the vitality of our rich and diverse strategic partnership," Yang addressed a reception organized by Chinese Mission to EU in Brussels on Thursday.
Yang made the calling at the reception held for European officials who wrapped up the second study tour in China. After the tour was kicked off in 2013, a total of 56 young EU officials have attended the programs in 2013 and 2014 under the umbrella of EU-China People-to-People Exchange Mechanism.
Yang said forty years ago, both sides have set up formal EU-China relations with shared aspiration for world peace, prosperity and progress. "In return, now it is for us, especially the young people to build China-EU's future," she said.
