HARARE - A Chinese man was killed in a mid- night armed robbery at a gold-mining site near Zimbabwe capital Harare, sources with the Chinese Embassy said Wednesday.
Embassy officials said about four to five robbers broke into the make-shift dormitory of a Chinese gold-mining firm and demanded money. The victim tried to resist but was shot to death.
Police are still investigating the case.
The embassy has issued safety alerts to Chinese businesses in the southern African country.
